Here are the minutes for the August 3rd 2010 meeting held at 3rd Federal Bank on York St.

New FABA Meeting Schedule

FABA will begin meeting Bi-monthly starting August 2010.

The next meeting will be August 4th 2010 @ 6pm @ Third Federal Bank at 2330 E York St.

Elections will be held September 2010 for new executive officers and board members. Only current members are eligible to run and vote. Member dues are only $50 a year, download the membership form on the right and send with your payment to the Treasurer Sharon Morgan at 2330 E York St. Philadelphia, PA 19125. September will be a special meeting for elections- Time and place TBA.

Board Elections

FABA is seeking new board members! We are in need of business owners and entrepreneurs to join us and help improve the area for shopping, dining, working, creating and living! We are holding elections for board officers such as President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary as well as at-large board members. The board helps make decisions on what FABA's activities will be, helps execute the programs and goals as well as maintain the day-to-day operations of the association. Please consider joining us!

Fishtown Shad Fest!

FABA and the Friends of Penn Treaty Park bring you the 2nd Annual Fishtown Shadfest!

WHEN: SATURDAY APRIL 24th 11am-6pm
WHERE: At Penn Treaty Park at Delaware and Columbia Sts.

The Shad Fest will have many events through out the day and we really have something for everyone. The fest runs from 11am-6pm with food and arts vendors all day.

We are still working out the day's schedule but to give you a taste we have-

• Local Arts & Crafts Vendors
• Food Vending- Shadfish from Johnny Brenda's Tavern, Cosmic Catering and Festival Foods
  
• Live Local Music featuring "Shaking Through" Artist- The Strapping Field Hands , Birdie Busch , The Buried Beds, the Lara and Joe Show for kids, and local sweethearts Blood Feathers!
• WXPN will be broadcasting live from the Shadfest
• Kids Activities including a moonbounce
• Environmental and community groups such as Philadelphia Green, The East Coast Greenway, Pennsylvania Environmental Council, the Bicycle Coalition, Fishtown Neighbors Association, Girls Rock Philly, Sustainable 19125 and more!
  
• Environmental and Historic Displays
  
• A Historic Scavenger Hunt ending at the Fest
• A tour of the park's history with Historian Ken Milano
  
• Valet Bike Parking by Neighborhood Bike Works all day long
