Grey Editing

Tell us about your business.

The Grey Editing philosophy is that your voice should shine through in all of your communications. We offer a range of editorial services to publishers, academics, individual writers, web developers, and businesses large and small.

Whether it’s editing and indexing an academic treatise on geopolitics, troubleshooting the timeline of a novel, writing web copy for a hot new developer, or coaching a graduate student through writing her dissertation, Grey Editing can help you polish your words and your ideas to show the world your writing at its best. We work with publishers, academics, individuals, web developers, and businesses large and small to craft intelligent, polished prose of all kinds for print and digital media.

What do you feel you offer that some of your competitors may not?

The quality of our editorial services is much higher than online editing services provide. My background in project management also allows me to offer professional customer service that far exceeds what most freelancers can do; I know how to make my clients’ lives easier.

Do you live in the Fishtown area (Fishtown and its surrounding neighborhoods) as well? What do you like as a resident?

Yes! I love the vibrancy of the neighborhood, being able to walk everywhere, and of course the food and drink.

What do you like about working and (if you do) running a business in this area?

Fishtown business owners are a very supportive bunch. People care about keeping money in the neighborhood.

What do you think are the advantages that business owners have in the Fishtown area?

Word of mouth spreads fast here. If you’re good at what you do and you’re welcoming to customers, the news will get around.

What obstacles do we as a business community need to overcome?

We’re working in a down economy, so we need to band together and support one another.

What are two (or three) of your favorite businesses in the neighborhood and why?

Only two or three? There are so many! I love the coffee shops and always feel welcomed at Leotah’s. Pizza Brain is a fun and delicious addition to Frankford Avenue, and so is the Pickled Heron! And yoga at MotherHeart Studio keeps me grounded.
